Placidus librorum Romanorum, Goetz, CGL V, 38,20: Pseudo tirum posticium, idest latens ostium quod semotum est a publico. – Eine spätere Hand hat tirum zu thyrum ergänzt. – Im LaS wird der Begriff unter anderem als „backdoor, private entrance, postern-gate: palatii“ bezeichnet, und es wird auf Amm. 14,1,3 sowie auf Orosius selbst (Oros. 7,6) verwiesen. Auch Cicero hat den Begriff schon verwendet, z. B. Cic. Verr. 2,2,50.
